Stalactite MIDI Generator

Stalactite is one of MIDI Maker’s experimental palettes — the kit a whisper in the cavern: a breath of a kick, dust, and a glass ping that drips with the lead. Single notes fall like drips into a cavern at 60 BPM: long true silences, a heavy echo that turns every strike into a canon, and a second voice that only answers once the first has gone quiet.

What to listen for: Single notes falling like drips in a cave, long silences between them, each one echoing away into the dark over a cold, still chord.

Roll a stalactite track

Stalactite is included with the Pro and Studio plans; the free plan covers five genres. See pricing.

How the engine writes stalactite

The bass is a slow deep pulse, the chords a barely-moving cold pad, and the harmony is nearly frozen — one or two progressions per track, each chord held for bars. Velocities stay soft with the occasional hard drip, so the dynamics are the water’s own.

From a roll to your DAW

A roll defaults to 60 BPM (every preset and tempo is editable before and after generating) and plays back in the browser through the studio's own synths. When you like a take, export it as whole-track or per-instrument MIDI, or as WAV/MP3 audio — the drum part uses General MIDI numbering, so it lands correctly on any drum plugin. There are step-by-step import guides for Ableton Live, FL Studio and Logic Pro.
