Argon MIDI Generator

Argon is one of MIDI Maker’s experimental palettes: neon pedal minimalism. The bass holds the root in straight eighths for the whole track, one chord shape flickers on the offbeats, and the harmony is a single two-chord alternation in Dorian.

What to listen for: One low note that never moves, two chords flickering on the offbeat and a tiny three-note figure glowing above them, like a neon tube in a cold room.

Roll a argon track

Argon is included with the Pro and Studio plans; the free plan covers five genres. See pricing.

How the engine writes argon

The melodies are three- and four-note cells permuted hypnotically, with a second voice answering an octave below. Development is subtraction and return, nothing harmonic. Under it sits a dry tick-and-click pulse — wire ticks, a soft throb of a kick — on the same straight grid as the pedal.

From a roll to your DAW

A roll defaults to 126 BPM (every preset and tempo is editable before and after generating) and plays back in the browser through the studio's own synths. When you like a take, export it as whole-track or per-instrument MIDI, or as WAV/MP3 audio — the drum part uses General MIDI numbering, so it lands correctly on any drum plugin. There are step-by-step import guides for Ableton Live, FL Studio and Logic Pro.
