Ricochet is one of MIDI Maker’s experimental palettes: the delay is an instrument. Short staccato strikes are placed so a dotted-eighth echo lands exactly in the holes the parts leave — the patterns author the silence, the bus plays it.
What to listen for: Short notes fired into a long echo, so half of what you hear is the repeats bouncing back into gaps left open for them.
Ricochet is included with the Pro and Studio plans; the free plan covers five genres. See pricing.
How the engine writes ricochet
Velocities stay crisp and even so every return reads as an echo, a second melody answers only in the lead’s rests, and a dry quarter-note bass keeps a fixed floor under the moving reflections. The kit is a dry tick-and-click pulse — wire ticks, telegraph taps, a soft throb of a kick on the groove’s heads — sparse enough to leave the echoes their holes.
From a roll to your DAW
A roll defaults to 128 BPM (every preset and tempo is editable before and after generating) and plays back in the browser through the studio's own synths. When you like a take, export it as whole-track or per-instrument MIDI, or as WAV/MP3 audio — the drum part uses General MIDI numbering, so it lands correctly on any drum plugin. There are step-by-step import guides for Ableton Live, FL Studio and Logic Pro.
