Lattice is one of MIDI Maker’s experimental palettes: phase music. One tiny bell cell is the whole surface — three voices carry it at different pattern lengths, so identical material slips out of alignment and locks back in every few bars.
What to listen for: One tiny bell figure played by several voices that slowly drift out of step with each other, then click back into line every few bars.
Lattice is included with the Pro and Studio plans; the free plan covers five genres. See pricing.
How the engine writes lattice
A steady eighth-note bass outlines the roots and one quiet glass wash holds under it, so all the motion reads against something still. The kit holds still too: a dry tick-and-click pulse — wire ticks on an eighth clock, a soft throb of a kick — that the phasing voices drift across.
From a roll to your DAW
A roll defaults to 120 BPM (every preset and tempo is editable before and after generating) and plays back in the browser through the studio's own synths. When you like a take, export it as whole-track or per-instrument MIDI, or as WAV/MP3 audio — the drum part uses General MIDI numbering, so it lands correctly on any drum plugin. There are step-by-step import guides for Ableton Live, FL Studio and Logic Pro.
