Cathedral is one of MIDI Maker’s experimental palettes: harmony built to hang and resolve, suspended fourths letting down into plain triads in chains, inside the biggest reverb the engine owns. The kit is a whisper in the nave: a breath of a kick, dust, a glass ping at a phrase end, and swells of air where another genre would crash.
What to listen for: Chords that hold one note over the change and then let it fall a step, each ache resolving into the next, ringing on through a vast hall.
Cathedral is included with the Pro and Studio plans; the free plan covers five genres. See pricing.
How the engine writes cathedral
Two held chord voices change at different rates, so the old chord keeps ringing against the new one, and the bass strides in whole notes underneath. The lead chants in long tones with real rests, and a second voice answers from across the nave only when the first falls silent.
From a roll to your DAW
A roll defaults to 66 BPM (every preset and tempo is editable before and after generating) and plays back in the browser through the studio's own synths. When you like a take, export it as whole-track or per-instrument MIDI, or as WAV/MP3 audio — the drum part uses General MIDI numbering, so it lands correctly on any drum plugin. There are step-by-step import guides for Ableton Live, FL Studio and Logic Pro.
