Filament is one of MIDI Maker’s experimental palettes — the kit is dust and grain, a static snap now and then, a void kick that barely moves the air. It inverts the pairing every fast genre assumes: ornamental 16th lines played pianissimo, grace-note pairs and short runs with air between them, so the speed glitters instead of swarming.
What to listen for: Fast, delicate runs played almost in a whisper over a still glassy chord, with a single bright note catching the light now and then.
Filament is included with the Pro and Studio plans; the free plan covers five genres. See pricing.
How the engine writes filament
Two whispering lines trade threads an octave apart over a barely-lit glass bed, with a quiet two-16th stab where the light catches. The harmony is Lydian and near-still — one progression per track, chords held for bars — because stillness is what lets a whisper carry.
From a roll to your DAW
A roll defaults to 108 BPM (every preset and tempo is editable before and after generating) and plays back in the browser through the studio's own synths. When you like a take, export it as whole-track or per-instrument MIDI, or as WAV/MP3 audio — the drum part uses General MIDI numbering, so it lands correctly on any drum plugin. There are step-by-step import guides for Ableton Live, FL Studio and Logic Pro.
