Helix MIDI Generator

Helix is one of MIDI Maker’s experimental palettes — melody, chords and bass over a dry tick-and-click pulse that taps each chord change, with swells of air for effects. Its mechanism is endless ascent: every figure restates itself a step higher, the progressions chain rising fourths and stepwise climbs, and each section lifts the key feeling another rung.

What to listen for: Every line keeps climbing, and when one reaches the top it drops back down and starts again, under one bright, held chord.

Roll a helix track

Helix is included with the Pro and Studio plans; the free plan covers five genres. See pricing.

How the engine writes helix

When a line tops out it resets low and climbs again — the registers are kept moderate on purpose so the reset is an audible event. Two strands climb an octave apart over one luminous held bed, and the bass takes the same stair in longer strides. Buoyant, bright, Ionian with a Lydian glint.

From a roll to your DAW

A roll defaults to 118 BPM (every preset and tempo is editable before and after generating) and plays back in the browser through the studio's own synths. When you like a take, export it as whole-track or per-instrument MIDI, or as WAV/MP3 audio — the drum part uses General MIDI numbering, so it lands correctly on any drum plugin. There are step-by-step import guides for Ableton Live, FL Studio and Logic Pro.
