Prism MIDI Generator

Prism is one of MIDI Maker’s experimental palettes: melody, chords and bass over a dry tick-and-click pulse, with a telegraph tap on each chord change and shimmer blooms for air. Its mechanism is refraction: all three melody voices restate the same figure, one at speed, one compressed, one stretched, stacked in registers like bands of light.

What to listen for: One short tune heard at several speeds at once, doubled, halved and shifted, layered like bands of light over a bright, sparkling chord.

Roll a prism track

Prism is included with the Pro and Studio plans; the free plan covers five genres. See pricing.

How the engine writes prism

Lydian and Ionian keep the colour bright, the chords arpeggiate wide in open voicings, and the bass springs on roots and octaves underneath. The harmony moves section by section — each one a new facet the same figure arrives through — and the pocket stays crisp so the three speeds land in register.

From a roll to your DAW

A roll defaults to 132 BPM (every preset and tempo is editable before and after generating) and plays back in the browser through the studio's own synths. When you like a take, export it as whole-track or per-instrument MIDI, or as WAV/MP3 audio — the drum part uses General MIDI numbering, so it lands correctly on any drum plugin. There are step-by-step import guides for Ableton Live, FL Studio and Logic Pro.
