Tidal MIDI Generator

Tidal is one of MIDI Maker’s experimental palettes — a kit of pressure and grain under it, a void kick and sand static that swell and ebb with the parts. Everything moves in bar-length waves: velocities climb to a crest past the half-bar and fall away, note placement thickens mid-wave and thins to nothing at the turn.

What to listen for: Everything swells and recedes in bar-long waves, growing louder and busier into the middle of each bar and falling away again.

Roll a tidal track

Tidal is included with the Pro and Studio plans; the free plan covers five genres. See pricing.

How the engine writes tidal

Notes bloom late in the beat, behind the grid, the way water piles up before it breaks, and the harmony turns every two bars like the tide. The wave lives in the generator itself, so every exported part carries the same swell into your DAW.

From a roll to your DAW

A roll defaults to 58 BPM (every preset and tempo is editable before and after generating) and plays back in the browser through the studio's own synths. When you like a take, export it as whole-track or per-instrument MIDI, or as WAV/MP3 audio — the drum part uses General MIDI numbering, so it lands correctly on any drum plugin. There are step-by-step import guides for Ableton Live, FL Studio and Logic Pro.
