The free MIDI generator that rolls the dice—
and you load the dice.

MIDI Maker is an aleatoric music engine. It composes with weighted chance — thousands of tuned dice rolls deciding melody, harmony, bassline and drums — so every take is a genuine one-off. Tip the odds, re-roll what you don't love, then export MIDI, WAV or MP3, or stream MIDI live into your DAW.

Under the hood

Built for musicians—not just prompts

🔊

Browser Synthesis

Full synthesizer engine runs in your browser via Web Audio API. No servers, no latency.

Real-Time Playback

Hear your arrangement instantly — and because parts are re-rolled as it plays, no two play-throughs are quite the same.

🎲

Aleatoric Engine

Chance operations in the tradition of Mozart’s dice games and Cage—weighted rolls pick every phrase, so nothing is remixed training data.

📐

Musical Structure

Generates intros, builds, variations and sections—not just a repeating loop.

🎛️

Advanced Synth Engine

Oscillators, AM/FM modulation, ring mod, distortion, peak filters and ADSR envelopes.

Royalty-Free

No samples, no training data — nothing to clear and no royalties, ever. Personal use on Free and Pro; the Studio plan adds a full commercial licence.

FAQ

Common questions

Is MIDI Maker free?

Yes — the free plan includes 5 track generations and 1 export per day across five genres (house, techno, pop, disco and grime), with the full studio in your browser. Pro and Studio unlock every genre and remove the limits.

Do I need an account?

Not to make music — the studio opens and generates without one. You need a free account to download your tracks, and the daily allowances reset at midnight local time.

What DAWs does it work with?

All of them. Exports are standard .mid files (plus WAV and MP3 audio) with every instrument on its own track and drums on General MIDI numbering — there are import guides for Ableton Live, FL Studio, Logic Pro, GarageBand, REAPER and Cubase.

Is the output royalty-free?

Yes — everything you generate is royalty-free with no attribution required. Free and Pro output is licensed for personal projects; the Studio plan adds a commercial licence for releases, games, videos and client work.

Is MIDI Maker AI?

No. It composes with weighted chance — aleatoric music, not machine learning. There is no model and no training data, which also means no copyright ambiguity about where your notes came from.
