Terms of Use for MIDI Maker

These terms apply to your use of MIDI Maker, accessible from https://www.midimaker.io. By using the website you agree to these terms. If you have any questions, please contact us.

The service

MIDI Maker is a browser-based music generation studio. It composes music algorithmically using weighted chance — it is not trained on, and does not reproduce, any existing recordings or compositions. The service is provided on free and paid subscription plans as described on the pricing page.

Your content and licence

Music you generate with MIDI Maker is royalty-free: you never owe royalties or licence fees for it, and you do not need to credit MIDI Maker. What you may use it for depends on your plan:

  • Free and Pro plans — generated output (MIDI, audio and stems) is licensed for personal, non-commercial use. You may use it in personal projects, practice, study and demos that are not sold or monetised.
  • Studio plan — generated output additionally carries a commercial licence. You may use it in released music, games, videos, advertising, client work and any other commercial project, with no royalties and no attribution required. The licence covers output generated while your Studio subscription is active and survives cancellation for that output.

The free tools at /tools (scales, chord progressions, drum patterns and audio conversion) produce standard musical building blocks; their downloads are free to use in personal and commercial projects.

Accounts and subscriptions

Subscriptions are billed through PayPal and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account page; your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period, after which the account returns to the Free tier. Plan limits (such as generations per day and exports per month) are as described on the pricing page and may be adjusted with reasonable notice.

Acceptable use

  • Do not attempt to disrupt, overload or reverse-engineer the service.
  • Do not resell, redistribute or sublicense the service itself (as opposed to the music you generate).
  • Do not use the service to infringe the rights of others or to break the law.

Disclaimer and liability

MIDI Maker is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, MIDI Maker is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time; material changes will be announced on the website. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
