Getting Started
The end-to-end MIDI Maker workflow: generate a track, explore and refine it, then export to MIDI, WAV or MP3.
Generating a Track
Open the studio. If this is your first visit, the setup menu will appear — choose a genre, adjust tempo and length to taste, then click Generate. MIDI Maker composes a full arrangement: multiple synthesisers, drum machines, chord progressions, and a song structure, all from scratch.
If the studio is already open, click the New Track button in the control bar to open the setup menu and generate a fresh arrangement.
Listening and Exploring
Press Play. The studio plays your track through the browser's audio engine — no plugins, no install. Everything you hear is rendered live, including synthesis, effects, and the mastering chain.
Open the Progression panel at the bottom of the screen while the track plays to see the arrangement laid out: key segments across the top, chord segments below, then a clip lane per instrument. This gives you a sense of the structure before you start refining it.
Refining the Sound
Click any instrument module in the display area to open its controls. Monosynth controls let you adjust density (how busy the part is), octave range, and step size (how far apart consecutive notes jump). Drum machine controls let you adjust per-drum velocity and density.
To change the harmonic context, open the Progression panel and click a key segment to change its root note or scale, or click a chord segment to swap the chord pattern. Changes take effect immediately — the track updates on the next bar without stopping.
Use the Mixer panel to balance instrument levels, add reverb or delay, or mute parts you don't want.
Exporting
Click the Download button in the control bar to export the arrangement: whole-track MIDI with every instrument on its own track, per-instrument MIDI files, and audio as WAV or MP3 — the finished mix, dry per-instrument stems, or both. Audio renders offline through the full mastering chain, so the files match what you hear.
Prefer a live take? Click the Record button instead. Playback starts automatically and MIDI Maker captures the output in real time through the master bus — what you hear is what you get. When playback finishes, choose MP3, WAV or MIDI and the recording downloads.
