Kinetic MIDI Generator

Kinetic is one of MIDI Maker’s experimental palettes — the kit a soft throb of a kick and wire ticks on the beats the ball lands on. Its mechanism is bounce physics: gestures that accelerate like a dropped ball, each gap half the one before, chances and velocities rising into a landing that the bass has already claimed on the beat.

What to listen for: Phrases that bounce like a dropped ball, the gaps between notes halving and halving again until they land square on the next beat.

Roll a kinetic track

Kinetic is included with the Pro and Studio plans; the free plan covers five genres. See pricing.

How the engine writes kinetic

Figures tighten on repeat, onsets ratchet into quick restrikes for the last inches of a bounce, and the chords chop offbeat over one springy pad that breathes in tempo. A Mixolydian vamp with a hair of swing keeps the court still and the grin audible.

From a roll to your DAW

A roll defaults to 124 BPM (every preset and tempo is editable before and after generating) and plays back in the browser through the studio's own synths. When you like a take, export it as whole-track or per-instrument MIDI, or as WAV/MP3 audio — the drum part uses General MIDI numbering, so it lands correctly on any drum plugin. There are step-by-step import guides for Ableton Live, FL Studio and Logic Pro.
