Swarm is one of MIDI Maker’s experimental palettes: nearly all of the rhythm carried by six pitched voices — a cascading 16th-note lead and two independent counter-lines weaving against it — over a dry tick-and-click pulse.
What to listen for: A fast, never-resting surface of busy tunes over a driving bass, the energy coming from the notes themselves rather than from the drums.
Swarm is included with the Pro and Studio plans; the free plan covers five genres. See pricing.
How the engine writes swarm
Underneath, a motorik bass chugs the pulse beside a soft throb of a kick and wire ticks, and a chopped chord stab supplies the backbeat over one held bed. The harmony barely moves — a dark minor undertow — so all the speed reads against something still.
From a roll to your DAW
A roll defaults to 150 BPM (every preset and tempo is editable before and after generating) and plays back in the browser through the studio's own synths. When you like a take, export it as whole-track or per-instrument MIDI, or as WAV/MP3 audio — the drum part uses General MIDI numbering, so it lands correctly on any drum plugin. There are step-by-step import guides for Ableton Live, FL Studio and Logic Pro.
