REAPER MIDI Generator — Free Online

MIDI Maker is a free online MIDI generator that writes full arrangements — melody, chords, bassline, and drums — as standard MIDI files that REAPER expands into per-part tracks on import. Generate in the browser, then route each part to whatever FX chain you like.

How to use the MIDI in REAPER

1. Generate a track in the MIDI Maker studio and download it as a .mid file.
2. Drag the .mid into empty space in REAPER's arrange view, or use Insert → Media File.
3. When REAPER asks, choose to expand the multichannel MIDI to new tracks so each part — melody, chords, bass, drums — gets its own track, and accept the file's tempo if you want the project to match the generated BPM.
4. Add a virtual instrument to each track via the FX button — any synth for the pitched parts, a GM-compatible drum plugin for the drum track.
5. Double-click any MIDI item to open REAPER's MIDI editor and reshape the notes.

Stream MIDI live into REAPER

REAPER also accepts the generator as a live input: Live MIDI Out (Chrome/Edge) streams notes and MIDI clock to a virtual port that REAPER can record from or even slave its transport to. Does the MIDI work with REAPER's instruments?

Yes — REAPER imports the .mid as ordinary MIDI items, so any VSTi you insert (ReaSynth for a quick test, or your own synths and samplers) plays the parts. The drum track uses the General MIDI drum map, so GM-compatible drum plugins map it correctly.

Can I stream MIDI live into REAPER?

Yes — the studio's Live MIDI Out mode (Chrome or Edge) sends notes and MIDI clock to a virtual port (IAC Driver on macOS, loopMIDI on Windows). Enable that port for input in REAPER's Preferences → MIDI Devices, arm a track, and record the generator live.

Is the generated MIDI royalty-free?

Yes — everything the generator writes is royalty-free with no attribution required. Free and Pro output is licensed for personal projects, and the Studio plan adds a commercial-use licence for releases, games, videos and client work.
